Chorus owns and maintains the fibre network across Auckland. Only Chorus can install and commission fibre, but the trenching and duct preparation must be completed first and signed off to their specifications.

How we approach

Our role focuses on preparing the site correctly so Chorus can install and commission the service.

Site review and planning
We review plans or meet on site to understand service routes, access and whether the site is a standalone build or a multi-dwelling development.

Trenching and duct installation
We dig trenches and install ducts in line with Chorus specifications. This work is often carried out in the same trench as other services, with the required separation

Coordination with Chorus
The homeowner or developer requests the connection through Chorus. Chorus supplies the materials and installs the fibre by blowing it through the duct.

Inspection and
sign-off
Chorus signs off the work once it meets their standard, allowing the service to be connected.
